There’s Always Plenty To Do At Melangata Station

Relax and do nothing, or join in one of our activities.
It’s completely up to you!

3 – 4 Nights

The ideal amount of time needed according to our guests is 3-4 nights so you can incorporate some or all of the tours on offer.

There is a network of long and short walk/push bike trails that originate from the homestead or campground. Just ask for a map on arrival.

Homestead Tour

Every morning at 10am an informative historical homestead tour, that includes morning tea of scones jam and cream plus real coffee, is available to all guests staying at the station stay. Only $15/ person. See our friendly staff on arrival to book your tour.

Self Drive Tag-Along-Tour

At about 11.15am, the self-drive tag-along station tour departs and your guide will provide you with a commentary on the things that are happening on the station. There will be history, environmental regeneration, flora and fauna and many awesome geological features to fill in a few hours. Bring your packed lunch, water, hat, hiking shoes and most important your camera to record the special things to be found.

Never fear if you don’t have a suitable vehicle, and you have made your way here in a sedan, we have a limited number of seats (4) available in the station vehicle. Only $40.00/person.

Full moon sundowner. Dark sky satellite and constellation spotter.

Provided the weather is good we will head out at about 4-4.30pm to a special spot on a granite outcrop or to our beautiful Dalgaranga Hill/Toms lookout to watch the sun go down and the moon come up. Other sundowner experiences can be arranged outside of the full moon time and we highly recommend a dark sky satellite and constellation experience when there is a new moon. Bring your chair, torch, warm clothing, nibbles or dinner, hot or cold beverage and a pair of binoculars as well as your camera. Only $25.00/person. Book your sundowner tour here.

Off Station Activities

Off station activities include day trips to Mount Magnet, Cue, Yalgoo and Murchison Settlement. You’ll find plenty of ideas on our “Where to buy an icecream” page.

Dalgaranga Station is an ex pastoral lease that was bought back by the state and Federal government and is now managed by DPaW you are welcome to visit the old homestead and dam wall and follow some of the old station tracks.
